Edward Anki
At Dusk on Cherry Beach
Seven months into our relationship
I said it I said those three words
I told her I loved her I
think I even meant it
I think it was late summer
I don’t think I really loved her
although I think I meant what
I said when I said what I said
I don’t think she responded
right away I think she squeezed
my hand I think she took a moment
to consider.
