Israel A. Bonilla

Aqua

Stasis only for the surface vast,
which meets the fray then waves farewell,
which spreads the refuse thin and clears,
which surrenders but swiftly stays itself.

Transient days overwhelm the bowl;
a handsome veil endures flat.
There is no provision.

Among the collected one abates.
Range, therefore.

Aer

From foreign stir, a push. I breathe calmly.
Leisure-awake and glad. How else?
The hammock swings. I make peace.
What is not granted to one who slacks?

It is just for revelation to seek
those who are unguarded in rest.
More so if slightly askew.

Something leaves every passing minute.
These are my refusals.
