Adam Haver
Mississippi May
His apocryphal place, a corner
in a southern wing, where the
river meanders into the mind.
The dust is gothic and the path
unbroken but long, only goes
a mile far from the familiar basin.
I would like to flow through
the flat lands, too, and wander
as the ferryman calls the fathoms.
There, I think, I might find myself,
staring at night at the reflection of
fireflies, each one calling my name.
